ALLEGHENY COUNTY REAL ESTATE TAX ASSESSMENT APPEALS

Did you receive your Tax Assessment Notice for 2013 yet?  Most taxpayers are getting huge increases.  There is a great deal of confusion and misinformation.

Right now, you must file a Tax Assessment Appeal by April 2, 2012, or any increase is binding.  Although April 2, 2012 is the last day to file the Appeal, you need to contact us as soon as possible, if you want our help.

Our firm has a history of working on behalf of landlords in Allegheny County, and we firmly believe no one should pay more taxes, if at all possible.  We are providing representation for Appeals concerning residential and commercial properties, including multi-unit and rental properties.  We have arranged for special discounted pricing from appraisers (yes, you should get an appraisal), and for our services.

If you would like to learn more about our Tax Assessment Appeal Program or to see if we can help you with your Appeal, please contact Allison M. Diehl, Esquire.  Please provide

  • your address

  • type of property

  • number of units (if applicable)

  • block and lot (tax parcel identification) number(s) and

  • your contact information (name, address and phone)

and one of our lawyers will respond.

WARNING

MARCELLUS SHALE – BEWARE THE FINE PRINT

The front page of the New York Times on December 2, 2011, contained an expose’ discussing the dangers landowners face when they sign leases that were prepared by gas companies.  The gas companies’ leases frequently do not provide protections that the landowners normally expect to have.  As the New York Times’ investigation concluded, landowners “are finding out too late what is, and what is not, in the fine print” of the leases. See, http://www.nytime.com/2011/12/02/us/drilling-down-fighting-over-oil-and-gas-well-lease....

We have always been there for the landowners and farmers.

We recently obtained a Fourteen Million Dollar ($14,000,000.00) settlement on their behalf against a large Marcellus Shale company.

Our lawyers have negotiated hundreds of Marcellus Shale gas leases on behalf of landowners over the last few years.  In negotiating the leases, we have provided our clients with numerous protections that the gas companies normally fail to include in their printed leases.  The only way to be protected and to be aware of “what is, and what is not, in the fine print” is to have a knowledgeable and careful review of any proposed lease.

Please contact David Borkovic, Michael Carr, or Raymond Roberts for assistance.
