Samuel P. Gerace is Of Counsel and practices in the areas of commercial and insurance litigation, property insurance and life insurance.
In 1961, Mr. Gerace received his Juris Doctor degree from the Albany Law School of Union University.
At the request of the Governor of West Virginia, Mr. Gerace help found the West Virginia Essential Property Insurance Association in 1986.
Mr. Gerace has authored various works including, “The All Risk Policy and 165 Line Standard Policy: A Review and Analysis,” The Tort and Insurance Law Journal, 1986; “Uberrimae Fidei and All Risk Policies: Revival of a Historic Defense,” Journal of International Association of Defense Counsel, 1986; and “Good Faith - Sword or Shield in the Insurance Industry,” Loss Executive Association, Business Ethics - Beyond Good Faith, 1988.
He has served as a panelist for the Property Loss Research Bureau and the National Forum, lecturer and panelist for the Loss Executives Association, member of the claims committee and a presenter for the Pennsylvania Association of Mutual Insurance Companies, and an annual lecturer at the Pittsburgh Fire Loss Conference.
Mr. Gerace is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court of West Virginia, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, Pennsylvania Defense Institute, American College of Trial Lawyers and the American, Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations. Mr. Gerace is a former member of the International Association of Defense Counsel.
