John P. Davis, III is a partner and practices in the areas of insurance coverage, property claims, personal injury, subrogation, life, health and disability insurance, and structured settlement transfers. Mr. Davis also has extensive experience with construction claims, toxic torts, and mass liability litigation. In addition to his advocacy skills, Mr. Davis is a trained and experienced mediator and has been appointed an Early Neutral Evaluator and Arbitrator in The United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
In 1980, Mr. Davis received his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Davis received the American Jurisprudence Book Award for estate planning and taxation. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Law from Lafayette College in 1977.
Prior to joining the firm in 1983, Mr. Davis served as a law clerk to the Honorable I. Martin Wekselman, Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Davis is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
He is a member of the West Virginia and Allegheny County Bar Associations; The Life, Health and Disability Committee of the Defense Research Institute; and the Law and Life Committees of the International Claim Association.
