John P. Corcoran, Jr. is a partner and practices in the areas of commercial litigation, construction law, alternative dispute resolution, arbitration and complex domestic relations matters.
In 1994, Mr. Corcoran received his Juris Doctor degree from
the Duquesne University School of Law where he was a Recent
Decisions Editor on the Duquesne University Law Review.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology
and Philosophy from Wilkes University in 1990.
Prior to joining the firm in 1999, Mr. Corcoran served as a
Lieutenant in the United States Navy Judge Advocate Generals
Corps and was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement
Medal for his service as trial counsel. He also served
as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern
District of Virginia.
Mr. Corcoran was appointed an Adjunct Professor of Law at Duquesne University School of Law in 2006.
Mr. Corcoran is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court
of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for
the Western District of Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court
of Maryland, the United States Court of Appeals for the
Third Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for
the Fourth Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals
for the Armed Forces.
He is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association,
American Inns of Court, the Pennsylvania, Maryland and
Allegheny County Bar Associations, and various construction
and business organizations.
