John P. Davis, III was a presenter at the International Claim Association’s annual meeting at Boca Raton, Florida, September 24-28, 2005. The topic of his two presentations was “Power of Attorney Principles,” which examined representative state and federal statutes creating powers of attorney, setting forth the scope of the attorney-in-fact’s authority, addressing the liability of third parties dealing with attorneys-in-fact and providing for the termination of powers of attorney.
In 2005, Mr. Davis also authored two updates for the ICA Law Committee on Pennsylvania and Rhode Island law for misrepresentation in the application for life, health and disability insurance policies.
In 2006, Mr. Davis authored a paper entitled "Escheat and The Uniform Property Acts of 1981 and 1995" for The ICA Live Committee.
Mr. Davis is a member of the ICA’s Life Committee and Law Committee, as well as the Defense Research Institute’s Life, Health and Disability Committee.
